Pastor John
Pastor
John and his wife, Donita, have three grown children.
When asked about his core convictions he replied:
"The grace of God is central. Life is a gift. Salvation is a gift.
Hope is a gift. Forgiveness is a gift. God works the wonders of
faith in the depths of our being as well as in the habits of daily
routine. What God does is first, foremost and foundational. Having
been chosen as children of God, our response is to be one of growing
into what God has already made us.
"We continue to grow into the children that God desires for us to
be. This is not the same for each of us. We were created unique
beings. Growth in faith and faithfulness is not becoming more like
someone else, but becoming the individuals that God intends for us
to be.
"There certainly are broad strokes that can be painted for this life
of faith. We are to have concern for the least and the lowly. We are
to be compassionate. We are to worship. We are to pray. We are to
grow. We are to be in community. The 'how' of these broad strokes
will, however, look different for each of us. And this growth never
ends. We never 'arrive' in our journey of faith and faithfulness. We
are always becoming."
